Trade Index separates source collection from publication review so users can see where values come from and what the current limits are.
What does the number mean?
A Trade Index value is the normalized value stored in the current repository dataset. Adopt Me and Grow a Garden pages use valuePoints. Steal a Brainrot uses incomeRate and cost from the Brainrot item model, then ranks items by parsed income rate in the app.
The value is a reference point for comparison, not a guaranteed trade result.
Is demand the same as value?
No. Value is the stored comparison number or income/cost signal. Demand is a label used by the app to help sort and filter interest levels.
Some automated fetchers map demand from local thresholds when a source does not provide a separate demand field.
Where can the data come from?
The current workflow can use repository data, AdoptMeTradingValues.com, GameRant, TechWiser, and U7BUY public pages. The exact source records are listed on the data sources page.
Public source availability is not treated as endorsement, a formal relationship, or unrestricted reuse permission.
Does collection equal publication?
No. Collection scripts fetch and parse public pages into local data structures. A successful fetch does not create a public review date by itself.
Publication review dates now come from approved review records in the repository.
How are source values converted?
Adopt Me fetched values are parsed as numbers, rounded, assigned value tiers by threshold, and assigned demand by local value thresholds.
Steal a Brainrot income and cost strings are normalized into compact K, M, and B values where needed, then the app ranks by parsed income rate.
Grow a Garden value text removes common currency and unit formatting, maps large units such as K, M, B, T, Q, and QI, and assigns value tiers by threshold.
What happens when two rows describe the same item?
The Brainrot fetcher merges duplicate item names case-insensitively and prefers existing non-empty rarity, income, and cost values.
The Grow a Garden fetcher deduplicates by lowercased pet name and keeps the entry with the higher parsed valuePoints.
Variant handling is limited to the item names and IDs stored in the dataset; there is not yet a full variant taxonomy.
What if sources disagree?
The current code has limited conflict handling. Brainrot merging uses source order and non-empty values. Grow a Garden duplicate handling keeps the higher parsed value for duplicate names.
Future item-level changes must record the source evidence and review decision before appearing in the update log.
Where does human review happen today?
The repository documentation describes automated updates creating pull requests for manual review before merging. This PR adds an explicit publication approval record so public review dates do not come from collection alone.
The approval record is narrow: it separates publication review from scraping, but it is not a complete editorial workflow.
Does confidence mean certainty?
No. Confidence is a review label for item-level change records. It is not a promise that a trade will complete at a specific value.
Baseline records do not assign item-level confidence because they do not publish historical item movements.
Why is a review date different from a collection date?
CollectedAt records when source data was gathered or when the current dataset snapshot originated. ReviewedAt records when the publication approval was made.
A baseline creates a structured starting point. A verified change records a specific before-and-after item change. Reviewed-no-change means a review happened and no item-level change was approved. Not-reviewed means no approved record exists.
How should mistakes be reported?
Use the contact page to report wrong values, missing items, source concerns, or unclear notes.
A correction should identify the game, item name, current displayed value, and the reason the entry may be wrong.
What should users be careful about?
Trade Index is an independent reference, not an official Roblox or game publisher source.
Values can vary by variant, timing, event supply, negotiation, and source lag. Always verify the exact in-game item before trading.
